New Jersey District Court denies Teva's motion to overturn jury verdict in generic Protonix litigation

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. announced today that the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey denied Teva's motion to overturn an April 23, 2010, jury verdict finding the patent in suit not invalid. The Court also denied Wyeth and Nycomed's request for FDA to reset the date of Teva's final approval to January 2011, based on the fact that Teva has patent defenses remaining at the District Court, including patent misuse.

Two patents issued for GlycoMimetics lead drug candidate, related compounds

Gilead sues Lupin over Ranexa patent infringement

Gilead Sciences, Inc. today announced that it has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in New Jersey against Lupin Limited for infringement against Gilead's patents for Ranexa® (ranolazine extended-release tablets). The lawsuit is based on an Abbreviated New Drug Application filed by Lupin, which seeks approval to manufacture and market a generic version of Ranexa before the expiration of Gilead's Ranexa patents.

Cepheid denies Abaxis' allegations of patent infringement, files answer and counterclaims

Cepheid announced today that it has filed an answer and counterclaims in a patent suit brought by Abaxis on June 28, 2010 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. In its filing, Cepheid denied Abaxis' allegations of patent infringement, asked the Court to determine it has paid all royalties due and is in full compliance with all the terms of its license, and to find that Abaxis' patents are invalid.

Olympus America Inc. has signed a nonexclusive worldwide licensing agreement with BioImagene, Inc. of Sunnyvale, California, allowing BioImagene to access an extensive portfolio of Olympus patents in the field of digital pathology and virtual microscopy.
